Activity

Located in Southern Brazos County, the Lometa Ranch consists of approximately 500 acres and produced primarily corn and grain sorghum from 1992 - 2000 when it was converted to a cattle and hay operation.  The entire productive Brazos bottomland acreage has been sprigged into a highly productive improved variety of Bermuda grass designated Tifton 85.  Lometa Ranch currently produces a large quantity of high quality hay for domestic use and sales to horse operations in and near Houston.  The hay is produced in both round and square bales.

Lometa Ranch has incorporated Beefmaster cattle in its operation in the last 25 years and currently has an ongoing expansion and improvement project with its goal being to run one cow per each two acres of land while selling substantial quantities of hay to establish high volume customers.
